Netflix email scam

Police in Paisley are warning Netflix users to be aware of a new email scam.

Customers of the popular online streaming service are being asked to delete a realistic looking message immediately.

The dodgy email provides a link to a website purporting to be the Netflix web page and leads to a legitimate looking site.

Users are then asked to put in their payment details which police say allows criminals to steal cash from bank accounts.

A Po l i c e S c o t l a n d spokesman said: “Our advice, as with all phishing emails, is to delete it immediately, do not click on any part of the email.

“If you wish to check the account mentioned in the email then do so by going direct to the Netflix website and log in, do not follow the link on the email.”
