Appeal after cars swiped
Police are appealing for witnesses after two cars were stolen from outside a house in Johnstone.
Sneak thieves lifted the car keys from inside a house in St Cuthbert’s Crescent overnight on Wednesday into Thursday, and made off with motors.
A white Vauxhall Zafira and a red Peugeot 208 were taken during the raid.
Inspector Cassie Glass, who is based at Johnstone police office said: “The suspects gained entry to the property on St Cuthbert’s Crescent, in Johnstone, overnight between October 8 and 9.
“They took the keys for the two cars and made off with the vehicles. I would appeal to anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the area to get in touch. Or if you have seen either of these two vehicles.
“I would also once again encourage home owners not to leave valuables or car keys downstairs. Keep such items out of sight and in a safe place.
“I would also urge all home owners to make sure that all windows, regardless how small, and doors are locked and secured prior to retiring to bed for the night.”
Anyone with information should contact police on 101.
