Vil­lage is all set to sparkle as it counts down to Christ­mas

Big lights switch-on fol­lows a fes­tive fayre

Elder­slie Com­mu­nity Coun­cil has or­gan­ised a day of fes­tive fun to cel­e­brate the vil­lage’s Christ­mas lights switch-on.

Tak­ing place on Satur­day, Novem­ber 25, the event starts at 2pm with a Christ­mas fayre in Elder­slie Vil­lage Hall in Stod­dard Square at 2pm.

There will be 20 stalls fea­tur­ing lots of ideas for Christ­mas in­clud­ing or­na­ments, can­dles, jew­ellery, hair ac­ces­sories and toi­letries.

There will also be stalls that can do per­son­alised gifts and face­paint­ing for young­sters.

Home bak­ing will be avail­able as well as tea, cof­fee and juice.

There will also be a col­lec­tion box for Ren­frew­shire Food­bank.

A raf­fle with prizes, in­clud­ing a steak lunch for two in­clud­ing a bot­tle of wine at the Butch­ers Steak and Grill, a mas­sage at Pais­ley Nat u ral Ther­apy Cen­tre and New Year steak pie from the award-win­ning Elder­slie Butch­ers, will be drawn at 5pm.

Wal­lace Pri­mary School Choir will lead the carol singing around the tree at 5.30pm be­fore the lights are switched on at 6pm.

All are wel­come to go along and join in the fes­tive fun.

All the money raised on the day will be do­nated to An­other Star in the Sky, the char­ity set up in me­mory of pop­u­lar Elder­slie school­boy Ah­mar Javed, 13, who passed away ear­lier this year from a rare brain con­di­tion.

Also tak­ing place on Satur­day, Novem­ber 25, is the Christ­mas lights switch- on in Ren­frew with events in John­stone and Lochwin­noch on the fol­low­ing Satur­day, De­cem­ber 2.

Pais­ley’s big Christ­mas lights switch- on event takes place this Satur­day.

The event starts at 1.30pm with a Santa pa­rade down the High Street and lots of fam­ily fun and events, and will cul­mi­nate with North­ern Ire­land rock­ers Ash per­form­ing be­fore the lights switch-on at 6pm.
