Euan can’t wait for derby showdown

Paisley Daily Express - - A Newlandscape -

Paisley Rugby Club’s Euan Stuart insists the Buddies’focus is already on the local derby with Birkmyre having returned to winning ways.

The Anchor side returned to league action for the first time in three weeks when they saw off the threat of Cumbernauld on home soil.

Stuart played a key part in the win with a number of conversations and penalties which helped Paisley get another win on the board as they target promotion.

But with Paisley set to play Kilmacolm side Birkyre in their next clash, Stuart admits eyes are already on the clash.

Stuart said in the wake of the game:“It was tough. Cumbernauld came out hard in the first half and caught us napping a bit.

“We showed real heart to come back and we actually looked stronger with 14 men on the park.

“It shows how hard this group works for each other that we rallied and put some real pressure on Cumbernauld when the chips were down.

“It’s great to get away with the win and it was better to play at home for the first time in nearly two months.

“We’ve been working hard during the week and look forward to taking on local rivals Birkmyre after our huge win against them earlier in the season.”
