Mo­torist ‘caused col­li­sion’

A mo­torist drove dan­ger­ously and caused a bus to col­lide with his ve­hi­cle in Pais­ley’s Neil­ston Road, it has been claimed.

Ja­son Con­nelly, 47, of Main Street, Neil­ston, is said to have driven too close to the bus and to have over­taken at a traf­fic is­land when it was un­safe to do so.

He is al­leged to have caused the ve­hi­cle to brake sharply, caus­ing the col­li­sion to hap­pen on Au­gust 10 last year.

Con­nelly is also al­leged to have be­haved in a threat­en­ing or abu­sive man­ner likely to cause fear and alarm to oth­ers by shout­ing and swear­ing, and to have as­saulted David Martin by push­ing him.

When the case against him was called in court, he lodged a not guilty plea.

A trial was set for March 14 with a pre- trial in­ter­me­di­ate diet in place on Fe­bru­ary 15 .
