Just the ticket for students

I was really impressed to see the campaign by our MSYPs to save the McGill’s student daily ticket.

Putting an end to the student day ticket will see young people who are studying out of pocket and creates a larger barrier to entering further education.

Renfrewshire MSYP Josh Kennedy’s petition which, at the time of writing, has had 5400 signatures calling for McGill’s to reinstate the student day ticket is a fantastic achievement.

The MSYPs met with McGill’s last week and the bus company have agreed to meet with young people before making any future decisions that could impact them.

They have also agreed to look into plans to create a student ticket for 16 to 20-year-olds.

I look forward to meeting with our MSYPs here in Renfrewshire in the near future.
