OAP hit cop on the head
A pensioner lashed out and injured a police officer during an incident in Johnstone.
James Taylor, 68, repeatedly attempted to hit PC Frazer Cambridge on the head in a police vehicle in the town’s Macdowall Street, then struck him on the head with a key or similar object.
When Taylor, of Ferguson Street, Johnstone, appeared in the dock at Paisley Sheriff Court, he pleaded guilty to the offence.
Sheriff Max Hendry said he viewed the offences as a serious matter and would first require background reports before considering an sentence.
He deferred sentence until March 15 for a social work criminal justice report to be prepared, as well as a Restriction of Liberty assessment.
