Reptile lovers are being urged to open their hearts and their homes to a lonely snake.

Striker, a cornsnake, was brought to the SPCA centre a year ago and staff there have looked after him ever since.

Now they’re appealing for someone keen to have a snake as a pet to consider giving Striker a new home.

Scottish SPCA Glasgow centre manager Anna O’Donnell said: “Striker arrived at the centre through no fault of his own a year ago.

“He is looking for a home with an experienced owner who has the knowledge to look after him.

“We would love to find him a new home soon with someone who has a keen interest in reptiles.

“Though they don’t play fetch or come when you call their name, cornsnakes are great pets for any reptile lover.

“His owner will need to be dedicated and have the time and commitment to ensure he continues to be a happy and healthy snake.”

Anyone who can offer Striker a suitable new home is being asked to contact the Scottish SPCA’s centre in Cardonald on 03000 999 999.
