It’s great to be at home

Paisley Daily Express - - A Newlandscape -

Parliament is on recess this week so it’s great to be based in the constituency and have put the time to good use.

I met with Bridge of Weir Leather staff to learn more about their impressive business and to hear about their concerns regarding Brexit. I also met with the CEO of the Malcolm Group, Andrew Malcolm, in Linwood to learn more about their work.

Both companies are long-established leaders in their fields, but the lifeblood of Scotland’s economy are SMEs and I was delighted to visit Jaw Brew in Hillington. Jaw Brew recently won Family Business of the Year at the ROCCO awards in November, an award coincidentally sponsored by the Malcolm Group.

After a busy few weeks in London, it is always useful to catch up with the local community to get a better understanding of the concerns people have.

I have a number of meetings this week and look forward to being out and about in Renfrewshire.
