Pupils in fine voice

Renfrewshi­re school pupils took part in a new and exciting singing performanc­e.

They were launching national project Singing to Learn, Learning to Sing.

The performanc­e took place in the Royal Concert Hall in partnershi­p with Glasgow UNESCO City of Music and was led by Christophe­r Bell, artist director of the National Youth Choir of Scotland (NYCoS).

Pupils from Inchinnan Primary and St David’s Prima r y , Johnstone, performed four songs.

The project has been developed by the Music Education Partnershi­p Group, and is a collection of arts and education organisati­ons.

Gayle Gorman, Education Scotland chief executive, said: “I’m delighted that the Music Education Partnershi­p Group have launched the new national framework which offers increased opportunit­ies for children to experience music every day in the classroom.

“As we celebrate the Year of Young People, I’m delighted that such a large number of pupils had the opportunit­y to take part in the singing lesson.

Well done to those who took part.”
