-

Pe o p l e f rom acro s s Renfrewshire are being encouraged to take up volunteering at this year’s Paisley 10k Road Race.

The fun-packed race day will be held County Square on Sunday, August 19, with both a 10k and a 3k event on the day.

Organisers Renfrewshire Leisure are looking for adults and young people to sign up and volunteer to help with the event.

They need people to give out water, fruit and medals to the runners between 9am and 1pm on the big day.

Organisers said in a social media post: “It’s a great day and all young volunteers between the ages of 12 and 25 will receive Saltire Awards.”

To join the team, email Karen Miller on kmiller@ engagerenfrewshire.com or call 0141 887 7707.

The 2017 Road Race was the most successful event to date, with more that 3,500 people racing round the streets of Paisley.

For the fourth year in a row, Macmillan Cancer Support is the race’s official charity partner.

Those interested in signing up for the race itself still have time to do so. Register online via www.raceforlife.org

Online entries close at noon on Friday, August 17, and there will be no entries available on race day.
