Police plea over stolen car

Police are investigat­ing after a parked car was found around the corner from where it was stolen.

The theft happened in Bridge of Weir in Livery Walk at 12.50pm on Wednesday.

A crook swiped the victim’s bag after she left it in Anderson’s Home Bakery.

The thief then made off with her white Hyundai 66 plate that was parked in the street.

The woman alerted police that the car had been nicked.

However they recovered the vehicle a short time later on Mimosa Road - a three minute drive from where it was pinched. The handbag was also recovered.

A Po l i c e S c o t l a n d spokeswoma­n said: “If you have any informatio­n in relation to this theft then we would like to hear from you.”
