Man is facing trial over breach
A Johnstone man is facing trial accused of breaking strict rules placed on sex offenders to protect the public.
Steven McElwee, 28, faces a claim that, between September 1, 2017, and March 15, 2018, he failed - “without reasonable excuse” - to notify police of a new bank card within three days of being issued with it.
McElwee was not present when the case against him called for the first time at Paisley Sheriff Court this week.
Not guilty pleas were entered on his behalf, by defence solicitor David Nicholson, and Sheriff Moira MacKenzie adjourned the case until November for a pre-trial hearing to take place.
A trial has been set for December.
