Paisley people are being asked to join Poppyscotland and help ‘Light Up Red’ the whole of Scotland this year in recognition of the First World War generation.

The charity is calling on mass involvement from schools, churches, council buildings, monuments, statues and landmarks to mark the centenary of the end of the First World War in November 1918.

If you have a building with external lighting, and can get hold of red gel filters for those lights, then you can join the national ‘ Thank You’ movement to illuminate premises red from November 5 to 11.

Gordon Michie, Head of Fundraising at Poppyscotland, said: “It’s fantastic to know that Scotland will be lighting up red once again for the Scottish Poppy Appeal.”
