Break-in bid plea

Crooks tried to break in to Elder­slie Bowl­ing Club - but were scared off by the alarm.

Po­lice say the would-bethieves tar­geted the Stod­dard Square club around 4am on Froi­day morn­ing.

It’s un­der­stood they were dis­turbed by the alarm and made off with­out tak­ing any­thing.

A Po l i c e S c o t l a n d spokes­woman ap­pealed for wit­nesses to come for­ward.

She said: “At 4am on Fri­day, Novem­ber 9, Elder­slie Bowl­ing Club was sub­ject to a break-in – how­ever the cul­prits were dis­turbed when they ac­ti­vated the in­truder alarm and noth­ing was stolen.

“Did you see any­one act­ing sus­pi­ciously or can you help us in any­way?”
