CHARLOTTE BOLLU AND KEITH JONES HELD THEIR GLAMOROUS WEDDING AT HENGRAVE HALL IN SUSSEX ON 15TH JULY 2016

After embarking on a ‘wedding venue’ road trip one weekend, Hengrave Hall was our last stop. It just took our breath away! The long driveway approaching the Tudor mansion, the sweet little church nestled in the grounds, the unique courtyard and the beautiful bedrooms encapsulated everything we wanted in a venue.

We wanted our day to have an elegant, opulent look, and took inspiration from Marie Antoinette and Parisian romance. Our colour scheme was blush and gold, and our flowers were a mix of pale pinks, white and pops of bright pink. We had lavish displays made up of roses and hydrangeas. I originally wanted peonies, but as they were out of season, Revival Rooms did a great job of sourcing alternatives such as David Austin roses. They also created a beautiful flower arch over the entrance to the church, and later a Pinterest-worthy display of roses falling from the ceiling to the dance floor.

We added lots of unique touches to make our day extra special for our guests.

We put together personalised welcome bags for all of our guests staying with us at the venue, and created personalised cocktails. With the help of Revival Rooms, we created a whiskey and cigar lounge for the evening, and a Marie Antoinette-inspired photobooth in the courtyard. Instead of a guestbook, we created a wishing well in the grounds, where guests could ‘make a wish’ for us.

I fell in love with a Pinterest image of my dress before I was even engaged, and tracked it down to Inbal Dror. Morgan Davies were hosting an Inbal Dror trunk show in their London boutique, and even though it was over my budget, I booked an appointment. I tried on a few styles, but nothing compared to the hand-embellished dress with the lace back and forever flowing train. It was perfect!

The only thing I’d change about our day would be to make it last longer. Keith and I made a pact to stay by one another’s side all day to take in every moment together, but it just went so quickly – we wish we could do it again!
