RADIAL VERSUS NON-RADIAL

Performance Bikes (UK) - - The Garage -

A radial piston master cylinder has a piston that works in parallel to the direction of lever travel; a conventional master cylinder’s piston runs at about 90° of that travel. Because the movement of the master is working directly in relation to the travel of the lever rather than through a pivot with a large varying rate of leverage, the feel is more direct and linear.
