PB BLADE VS FIREBLADE SP VS S1000RR
THAT CHASM OF top-end power is well-documented and is really the old Fireblade’s only real handicap. BMW moved the game on back in 2010 when they introduced the S1000RR with its F1-inspired finger followers and appetite for revs, and the Honda has never had the opportunity to fight back.
Sadly, the BMW now trumps both our Blade and the ported SP in the middle, too. But there is more to come – just getting the bike breathing properly should gain 10bhp and more in the middle, too. Head work will also help.
We reckon up to 180bhp is on the cards without hurting reliability or midrange.
