Gen­uine Suzuki for the clutch – orig­i­nals are gen­er­ally tougher and nicer to use than af­ter­mar­ket. New fric­tions and steels per­formed fault­lessly – we’ve not had to ad­just it since. Rules don’t per­mit nar­rower race chains. Bike HPS had an ar­ray of Talon sprock­ets in stock – stan­dard ra­tios, plus a -1 op­tion at the front, -1, -2 and -3 at the rear. We used just two rears – only the con­stant high-speed na­ture of Thrux­ton de­manded a taller na­ture than the first ra­tios we set­tled on.
