Leisure pool staff will take plunge in memory of Dee

-

Swimmers are taking on a gruelling challenge at Perth Leisure Pool in memory of colleague Dee Corbett.

Three lifeguards will be joined by two Perth Masters team swimmers to take on a 24 hour swim to raise £5,000.

The swimmers will begin at the Fair City’s pool at 9pm on Friday and participate in the challenge overnight and through Saturday.

Dee sadly passed away from cancer earlier this month and has been described as an “inspiration”.

Erin Torrie, swim teacher and masters team coach, is leading the relay.

She said: “Dee was an inspiration to everyone around Perth pool and we want to make her proud by completing the relay and raising a massive £5000.

“I’ve been blown away by the generosity of so many friends, family and colleagues who have sponsored or donated already.

“Everyone has been fantastic in helping us from Ann Dickson and Perth City Swim team kindly providing a lane on Saturday morning, through to colleagues and masters swimmers who will be providing refreshments to give us the energy.

“We want everyone to join and there will be colleagues and fellow masters swimmers with collection buckets on Friday and Saturday at the Perth Leisure Pool throughout the event.”
