Blackford welcomes housing minister
New housing in a south-west Perthshire village has been welcomed by a Scottish Government minister.
Kevin Stewart visited Blackford and praised Hillcrest Housing Association and Robertson Partnership Homes’38 homes while meeting some of the new residents.
Mr Stewart, the Minister for Local Government and Housing at the Holyrood Parliament, said:“We recognise the challenges in developing affordable housing that suits the needs of the local community, so I’m delighted to see that this successful partnership has delivered high-quality homes for Perth and Kinross.
“Good quality, energy efficient, affordable homes like these have a hugely positive impact on tenants’quality of life, making a difference to people, their families and the wider community.”
Stewart Shearer, managing director of Robertson Partnership Homes, said it was a“pleasure”to show the politician the fruits of the firms’labour.
He added:“Prior to now, there was a distinct shortage of affordable homes in the area and it is fantastic to see that the tenants have already settled in.
“We like to engage with local schools, community groups, building users and stakeholders on all our developments.”
