Cocaine seized in house raid
Police seized a mixture of cocaine and paracetamol with a street value of £1300 after raiding a house in the Moncreiffe area of Perth.
Perth Sheriff Court was told that a search warrant had been obtained for 41-year-old Dale Addley’s flat in Glenogle Crescent.
Depute fiscal Carol Whyte said officers went to the property just before 2pm on April 14 this year and discovered the drug in a cupboard.
He was fined £750 when he appeared for sentence after pleading guilty to an amended charge of having the Class A drug in his possession at his home.
He had previously been charged with the more serious offence of having the drug with intent to supply it to others.
A co-accused, Lorna Atkinson (36), of the same address, had her not guilty pleas accepted to charges of having cannabis and cannabis resin in her possession at the property the same day.
Solicitor Pauline Cullerton said her client, who has a previous conviction for a similar offence,“fully accepts responsibility for the offence”.
A background report indicated he used the drug to“overcome his anxiety”.
The accused was given four weeks to pay the fine.
