First-class postal fig­ures

Royal Mail is said to be achiev­ing above its tar­gets for next day de­liv­ery in Perthshire.

The postal ser­vice has ex­ceeded its reg­u­la­tory first class mail tar­get of 93 per cent for the first half of the 2017/18 fi­nan­cial year in the PH post­code area which cov­ers Perth and Kin­ross, Lochaber and ar­eas of the south­ern High­lands.

The re­sults, which re­vealed Royal Mail is de­liv­er­ing 93.6 per cent of first class mail the next work­ing day, were pub­lished last week.

Na­tion­ally, first-class mail was nar­rowly be­hind its reg­u­la­tory tar­get over the six months lead­ing up to 24 Septem­ber 2017. A to­tal of 92.9 per cent of mail ar­rived the next work­ing day.

Perthshire also ex­ceeded the sec­ond class mail tar­get of 98.5 per cent, de­liv­er­ing 98.8 per cent of this mail within three work­ing days.
