Saturday saw two green vests line up amongst the 392-strong crowd at Aberdeen Parkrun.

Rhona Watson finished the 5k route in 31:08 along with Alan Watson in 31:09.

Back in Perth, 39 of the 236 runners down the North Inch were made up of Perth Road Runners. Due to conditions, the alternativ­e route around the Inch was used.

David Knight was first Road Runner and first overall in a time of 17:55, followed by Duncan Ryan in 18:06 and Mark Dunn in 19:57 with Ronnie Glen next in 20:51.

For the ladies it was Claire Douglas who was the first green vest and third overall in a time of 22:10.

She was closely followed by Fabienne Thompson who was fourth overall in 22:37 and the Catriona Liddell in 26:04 and Fiona Manson in 26:55.

Later that day saw three Road Runners take to the local Strathearn Trail Race for the second in the series.

The challengin­g 5k route out at BlueSky Experience in Methven has four races in the series and offers a 2k route for children as well.

Scott Connor was first green vest in 22:33 and seventh overall. Ella Webley finished in 26:56 followed by Kathleen Connor in 29:04 and Kate Marshall in 36:53.

On Sunday, six hardy Road Runners braved the cold and took on the first of three Skull Mountain Races. The two lap trail race in Balbirnie Park, Markinch consisted of ice, mud and deep puddles in freezing temperatur­es.

First across the line and 26th overall was Stewart Reid, in a time of 29:27, and he was followed by Stewart Dallas in a time of 30:37.

First home for the ladies was Shona Ambrose in 33:21, followed by Catriona Liddell in 33:39, Stephanie Reid in 35:19 and Steph Boyd in 38:38.

The club meets regularly on Tuesday night at Bell’s Sports Centre for a 6.30pm start. Thursday nights are either track interval or hill sessions.
