Picking up the phone

Pick Me Up! Special - - Real Life -

When’s the last time you actually had a proper telephone conversation with your best mate? While you probably chat with your nearest and dearest every day through texting and social media, these conversations just don’t seem to have the same depth as an actual voice call. There’s nothing better than hearing someone you love – their accent, their intonations and the feeling in their voice. Phone calls force us to be more honest, too. Think about it – only a phone call has the power, through tone of voice, to shed light on what you’re really thinking. There’s no hiding how you really feel, something we all tend to do when we type out a text message. There’s just something so satisfying about a good oldfashioned phone call with someone who knows

you well. And remember, there’s a big difference between typing ‘lol’ and actually laughing out loud.
