Bump buddies!

Katy’s neighbour is now her best friend

Pick Me Up! - - LITTLE PICK ME UPS! - Katy Meaney, 31, Wolverhampton

Our new home was like living in the 1950s. My partner Nathan, 27, and I were the youngest in the cul-de-sac by decades.

But then young couple Natalie and Ricky moved in next door last January, and we were so excited, we gave them a card and a bottle of wine!

A little while later, I found out I was pregnant.

‘I know you’ve only just moved in,’ I said to Natalie, 27. ‘But you’ll be living next to a screaming baby soon!’

‘I was going to tell you the same thing!’ she laughed.

Our babies were even due in the same week – that November.

Hanging out most days, we soon became bump buddies – only she had the perfect pregnancy, while I had terrible morning sickness! The pregnancy flew by and, on November 28, my waters broke. After 32 hours in labour, I had my baby boy. Back on the ward, and who was in the next bed? Natalie! She met my little James and, the next day, her baby girl May was born. James was 8lb 12oz – and May was only 1oz less. Our babies laugh and smile together. I like to think they’re already best friends, like Natalie and I. Before long our two littl’uns will be racing up and down the street with each other . Maybe James and May can walk up the aisle together one day, too… Well, a mum can dream!

I like to think our babies are best friends… like us!
