Going, Going……

Kirstie’s home is on offer – for just £2!

Pick Me Up! - - REAL LIFE SHORT BUT SWEET - Kirstie Searle, 44, Northamptonshire

Yes, you read that right – I’m selling up for £2. And I’m not crazy!

Early this year, I came across a man from Lancashire raffling his home for £2 a ticket.

‘It gives a family the chance to get on the property ladder,’ I told my hubby Matthew, 45.

We’ve lived in Lang Farm, Northamptonshire, for six years, along with my elderly father Derek, 80, our twins Bailey and Hallam, 19, and Max, 15, and Amelie, 12.

I love our five-bedroom

home. We’ve made so many great memories here – the kids starting high school, new jobs, passing driving tests. But we’ve outgrown it now. Looking into buying a bigger place, I researched setting up a competition to win our home.

It turned out we’d need to sell 500,000 tickets at £2 each to cover everything – legal fees, the remainder of the mortgage, outstanding bills.

The winner, chosen at random by computer, would win it for only the price of the ticket!

We opened the competition on 1 July this year, and it’ll end at noon on 1 November.

It didn’t feel real until we’d sold the first ticket, though.

‘What have you done?!’ Matthew laughed at first.

But he’s come round to the idea. And the twins are just excited to be having their own rooms in our new house!

Regardless of whether we reach our target, we’ll donate to three charities, with money raised go to The Warwickshire and Northamptonshire

Air Ambulance, Alzheimer’s Society, Kids and Teens Cancer Research.

If we don’t reach it, one lucky ticket-buyer will win whatever is leftover of the jackpot!

So far we’ve sold over 30,000 tickets – some to America, New Zealand, Australia. We’ve even had interest from Japan!

All people need to do is answer a simple question, then donate a couple of quid.

I just want to help one lucky person or family become lord or lady of their £2 manor!

Roll up, roll up... and win yourself a house!
