8.33 khz radio installation assistance
The CAA has published the criteria that will enable aircraft owners and operators to check if they are eligible to claim the 20% rebate when installing new radios to comply with the changes, which come into force on 1 January 2018, requiring all aircraft operating in airspace that requires the carriage of a radio to have 8.33 khz voice-compatible equipment fitted and operational.
The authority’s General Aviation Unit has secured €4.3 million in EU funding, which represents 20% of the total anticipated cost of re-equipping the UK fleet.
