Airfields of the month: Fenland and Conington

Pilot - - FLIGHT TEST -

I recently found myself stranded at Fenland airfield after an enjoyable flight there in my Nipper. Unable to fly back to my home base of Breighton, I asked if I could leave the Nipper in a hangar for a few days. Accommodation was arranged immediately and the guys there couldn’t have been more helpful. So too were the staff at Conington who waived landing fees after a diversion there en route to Breighton. This is what aviation is all about: looking out for each other and offering unconditional help and support when it is needed. I would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank the pilots, Chairman and committee, and fire crew at Fenland, and the Tower staff at Conington, for acting generously and without hesitation. They are all an absolute credit to GA. Kate Howe, by email
