Well travelled Tiger
Another aircraft completing a circuitous return to its birthplace is Tiger Moth G-ANJI. As T6830, this 74-year-old taught a generation of RAF pilots to fly, before being part of the 1953 A J Whittemore bulk purchase. Eventually, it was bought by a French flying club at Pau, which flew it for sixteen years before selling it to enthusiasts based at Fort Lauderdale, Florida. After another twenty years it migrated to Canada, and has now joined David Shew’s collection of five Tigers, all on the active register but none with a current permit to fly.
