New Zealand com­pany The Vin­tage Avi­a­tor spe­cialises in re­pro­duc­ing WWI air­craft us­ing au­then­tic plans draw­ings and mea­sur­ing com­po­nents of sur­viv­ing orig­i­nals by laser scan­ning. G-WAHT is an Al­ba­tros DV scout, a very early ex­am­ple of mono­coque stressed skin con­struc­tion de­vel­oped by Ger­man de­sign­ers and, as such, re­quired de­tailed stress anal­y­sis to pre­dict its strength. The reg­is­tra­tion ref­er­ences the World War One Avi­a­tion Her­itage Trust at Stow Maries, Es­sex where the air­craft will be based along with oth­ers from Oliver Wolff’s col­lec­tion.
