The Con struct ion
I would say that measuring for a shirt is more advanced than
a suit. Different fabrics act differently on your body. I like a shirt to be correct, but not too correct. I want the shirt to come alive, to follow the body in a natural way. It is ok that the shirt is a bit wrinkled at the end of the day. It adds character and personality. A fabric that is too stiff kills the product.
At Stenströms, we work hard on developing shirts that fit different kinds of bodies. We use our own guys in the company as test models, and also have a wide ranging network of men of different body types that regularly try our shirts for comfort and style. We do this to be able to offer an international fit.
The slim look has been popular for many years, with both our Slimline and Superslim fit serving that need. But I feel it is time to add some air into the garment. I think people would like to breath again. For the conscious consumer we offer made-to-measure shirts, which gives enormous possibilities in terms of chest width, sleeve length, cuffs, collar styles, monograms and different types of buttons.
