Apprentice levy boost

BUSINESSES across the Solent can seize the national mantle in the government’s ambitious Plan for Jobs, as announced in the chancellor’s summer statement.

That is the view of Solent Apprenticeship Hub which recently launched its Transfer to Transform campaign to tap into the reported millions of unspent apprenticeship levy monies from employers in order to fund much needed apprenticeship places in smaller businesses.

Manager Jodi Fair said: ‘The government’s cash incentives to employers for taking on apprenticeships is a welcome boost to ensuring our workforce remains skilled, agile and productive as the economy tries to bounce back.’
