Rush hour is still quieter
RUSH-hour traffic levels have stayed down in the south compared to the rest of the country.
Research by the TomTom Traffic Index showed congestion in the south of England, dropping on average by 23 per cent compared to 2019, but as traffic peaks have returned
Stephanie Leonard, head of traffic innovation and policy at TomTom, said: ‘Even while peak times have slowly returned to the rest of the country, they remain down in the south for the most part – likely owing to the success of remote working initiatives.”
“However, we shouldn’t expect Southern roads to remain quiet forever.’
