3 charged with pros­ti­tu­tion Thurs­day af­ter ar­rests at 2 mas­sage par­lors in High­land

Po­lice say com­plaints prompted ‘month­s­long in­ves­ti­ga­tion’ in town

Three peo­ple were charged with pros­ti­tu­tion af­ter po­lice made ar­rests Thurs­day at two High­land mas­sage par­lors.

Bond Li, 54, of High­land; Yu Xiao, 51, of Chicago; and Xiao­jiao Zhou, 30, of Chicago, each were charged in Lake Su­pe­rior Court with pros­ti­tu­tion, a class A mis­de­meanor, ac­cord­ing to court records.

High­land po­lice “con­cluded a month­s­long in­ves­ti­ga­tion” Thurs­day with the three ar­rests at two mas­sage par­lors, Cmdr. John Banasiak said.

Banasiak did not spec­ify where the ar­rests oc­curred.

The in­ves­ti­ga­tion be­gan af­ter High­land po­lice re­ceived com­plaints of “pos­si­ble pros­ti­tu­tion and hu­man traf­fick­ing” at the lo­ca­tions, Banasiak said.

High­land po­lice were as­sisted by lo­cal, state and fed­eral law en­force­ment agen­cies Thurs­day, he said.
