3 charged with prostitution Thursday after arrests at 2 massage parlors in Highland
Police say complaints prompted ‘monthslong investigation’ in town
Three people were charged with prostitution after police made arrests Thursday at two Highland massage parlors.
Bond Li, 54, of Highland; Yu Xiao, 51, of Chicago; and Xiaojiao Zhou, 30, of Chicago, each were charged in Lake Superior Court with prostitution, a class A misdemeanor, according to court records.
Highland police “concluded a monthslong investigation” Thursday with the three arrests at two massage parlors, Cmdr. John Banasiak said.
Banasiak did not specify where the arrests occurred.
The investigation began after Highland police received complaints of “possible prostitution and human trafficking” at the locations, Banasiak said.
Highland police were assisted by local, state and federal law enforcement agencies Thursday, he said.
