A man was in­jured after a gas ex­plo­sion blew the roof off a boat near Lis­bellaw, County Fer­managh. North­ern Ire­land Fire & Res­cue Ser­vice (NIFRS) was alerted to re­ports of the in­ci­dent at John­ston Shore, Inish­more Road on 19 July. The ex­plo­sion oc­curred in­side the pri­vately-owned plea­sure craft boat, and blew its roof into the wa­ter. One man on board man­aged to es­cape and went to hospi­tal him­self to be treated for his in­juries. The boat be­came sub­merged in the wa­ter. The in­ci­dent also in­volved the RNLI, coast­guard he­li­copter, po­lice and am­bu­lance ser­vice.
