The Southamp­ton Boat Show will cel­e­brate its 50th an­niver­sary in Septem­ber, with or­gan­is­ers British Ma­rine pledg­ing to do more to pro­tect the world’s oceans.

Apart from wa­ter bot­tles and cups, no sin­gle use plas­tics will be avail­able at any of the food con­ces­sions or bars, all fish served on site will be sus­tain­able and waste will be re­cy­cled wher­ever pos­si­ble.

Among the boat­builders ex­hibit­ing will be Sun­seeker, which for the first time plans to dis­plays its full line of lux­ury motor yachts on the wa­ter at the show’s ma­rina. The firm’s Preda­tor 50 will be re­ceiv­ing its UK de­but. Prac­ti­cal Boat Owner has part­nered with British Ma­rine to give read­ers cheaper tick­ets for the show, which runs from 14-23 Septem­ber.
