ORKNEY GROUNDING INVESTIGATION
The circumstances surrounding the grounding of the Netherlands-registered cargo ship, MV Priscilla off the Orkney Islands are being examined by the Marine Accident Investigation Branch.
The 89m vessel grounded at Pentland Skerries in the Pentland Firth on 18 July. There were no reports of injuries to the crew, damage to the ship or pollution, and a Temporary Exclusion Zone of 1,000 metres was established. The vessel was eventually refloated and towed to Scapa Flow for an underwater inspection.
