The cir­cum­stances sur­round­ing the ground­ing of the Nether­lands-reg­is­tered cargo ship, MV Priscilla off the Orkney Is­lands are be­ing ex­am­ined by the Ma­rine Ac­ci­dent In­ves­ti­ga­tion Branch.

The 89m ves­sel grounded at Pent­land Sk­er­ries in the Pent­land Firth on 18 July. There were no re­ports of in­juries to the crew, dam­age to the ship or pol­lu­tion, and a Tem­po­rary Ex­clu­sion Zone of 1,000 me­tres was es­tab­lished. The ves­sel was even­tu­ally re­floated and towed to Scapa Flow for an un­der­wa­ter in­spec­tion.
