2002 Abbey GTS Vogue 215

-

WE WANTED A luxury two-berth tourer that didn’t cost the earth. We knew this would mean looking at older models, but putting ourselves in the place of a couple wanting to dip a toe into the world of touring without spending thousands, we checked out two tourers that fitted the bill.

Situated just outside Kenilworth (famous for its castle) is Broad Lane Leisure. This branch has been around for nigh on 50 years, with the Brown family taking it on in 1971.

A family business with long-term staff, the company sells Swift, Coachman, Sprite, Lunar and its own dealer specials. Used stock is always coming through and with a good assortment, too.

Taking our pick of the two-berths, we selected two brands – Abbey (which is no longer available) and Buccaneer. The Buccaneer is one of the last traditionally constructed models from 1999, when they were still hand-built, while the Abbey, from 2002, has a more modern overall feel.
