‘We did 10,000 miles in two years after its restoration’

We have just moved from Switzerland to Seattle in the USA. My husband is about to create his super hobby-workshop, import his rusty old Mini and get on with its restoration! Before he does that here is my beloved MGB GT that we restored back in Switzerland. The car sat in a garage for 15 years after the previous lady owner passed away. We bought it, stripped and rebuilt the suspension and had everything sandblasted and painted. All the brake parts were replaced and the engine given a thorough service. We replaced the inner sills and fitted chrome wheels with new tyres. Two new wings were painted and fitted (an early wedding present from my boss, Markus Tanner!) and the car given its first MFK (Swiss MOT) three days before our wedding! Over the next few years we did 10,000 miles in the car, including a 2500-mile trip to the north of England in the summer of 2015.
