Valve clearances

Remove the rocker cover (§in AF). Fit a new gasket if it’s less that perfect. Set the valve clearances using the ‘rule of nine’: set valve 1 with 8 fully open, 2 with 7, etc. Cold clearances: early cars – 0.012in (0.30mm); later cars – 0.010in (0.25mm).
