Fen-air returns

completed live at the NEC. Strewth! I did manage to sit in the car, turn the key and watch the lights come on. I made burbling noises as well. But that was later when I was on my own. Pat from Fen-air came back to trial-fit the air compressor and cooling radiator. His kit is brand new and, like Revotec, a 21st century upgrade that is well worth investing in. There is also nothing he doesn’t know about fitting air-con to classics… he’s just developed a kit for the Jaguar V12 which he described as being ‘a bit of a challenge’. The results are superb. Pat will be fitting the new system at the PC Resto show – live on stage. It did cross my mind that ‘air-con’ live might not be the most compelling live theatre event, but actually Pat is such a funny bloke… he makes air conditioning sound like rock and roll.

I had entrusted the virtually scrap bumpers and overriders to CE Design in Folkestone, Kent (you will see them advertising under Chrome Restoration Services in the magazine). As you can see, the work they had to do was epic. Over a month they sorted it all and the results are superb. I would much rather reuse the original bumpers than buy new. It is both cheaper and more in keeping with my vision for the car – repair and reuse where possible.
