I was on my way to a Renault dealership to test drive a new Dacia. A practical, sensible, reliable car was needed; preferably with lots of boot space. Funds were in place, pen ready to sign on the credit agreement. However, we all know how dangerous reading the classifieds can be and, as a result, I made small detour along the way. I went out to buy a Dacia and came back with a TVR S2. Life is good! The 2.9 Ford Cologne V6 sounds superb, pulls hard and parts are plentiful. Sensible? It’s mad. Practical? The boot is not bad. Reliable? Well it hasn’t broken down yet… I’ll never tire of the looks, performance and the offbeat burble that turns into a ruthless howl past 4000rpm.
