The article on ‘sleeper’ classics
(PC, Sept 2017) was excellent – the Fiat Coupé especially. My father was lucky enough to visit Italy for the launch. He had a tour of the Pininfarina factory and saw the cars being assembled. After lunch, he was given the keys to a Coupé and told to ‘enjoy’. My father headed for the hills to explore the handling… he came back full of praise for the car and with many stories to tell. One was when he came to a village where a funeral was taking place. With respect, father stopped, only for the local Carabinieri to halt the cortege and wave him through! Only in Italy.
