Ignition system

Inspect the HT leads, cap and rotor arm. Apply drops of oil to the distributor’s felt pad and advance mechanism. Clean the spark plugs and gap to 0.031in (0.8mm) every 6000 miles. Replace with Champion RN9YC (or equivalent) every 12,000.

Tech Tip Don’t overtighten the distributor cap retaining screws – the threads are easily stripped.
