Built from new

-

The article on the last Morris Minor struck a chord. My friend Hugh decided in 1972 to build a new Morris Minor. Went to Kennings in Stratford, East London and order a chassis wings, doors, bonnet, boot. Grille and panels, the lot. My uncle Sid painted it Primrose Yellow and black roof. Burtons built an engine.

Another friend, Tone, made a full width wooded dash and put in many hours building it. It had wide steel wheels and 185x13 Gran Prix Sport tyres – all new. He got it registered as a new car in 1973 on an L-plate. It lasted about a year, then was written off in an accident. Ray Reeve, Essex
