This fish and Am­bas­taia ni­gro­lin­eata are the small­est of this type of loach and A. sidthimunki is just as peace­ful as its slightly larger cousins, so it’s a good choice for aquaria.

The down­side is the price. Of­ten found at around £16, it makes for a dear shoal of five, but hon­estly, it’s well worth it. Th­ese fish are still play­ful, but maybe not quite as ac­tive dur­ing the day as sev­eral of the other species men­tioned.
