Hotly-anticipated products we can expect in 2017...
Following a flurry of releases from Fuji, including the X-Pro2, X-T2, X100F and X-T20, we are expecting the follow-up to the X70 to be announced shortly. Though well reviewed, the X70 never quite found its market and has been discontinued. We’d expect to see the universal 24MP X-Trans CMOS III processor, fixed lens and touchscreen on the X70’s successor, as well as the possibility of a built-in EVF this time around. fujifilm.eu
Fujinon XF 8-16mm f/2.8
There are rumours circulating that the next lens to be announced by Fuji will be a super wide-angle 8-16mm f/2.8. This would surpass its current widest lens, the XF 14mm f/2.8, and bolster its ever increasing X-series lens line-up. Fuji is currently scheduled to release both a 50mm f/2 and an 80mm f/2.8 1:1 macro lens in 2017. Given the current lack of a native 1:1 macro in the range, this will be welcome news for Fuji owners looking to expand their macro portfolio. fujifilm.eu
It’s been forever, but we are still hoping Nikon will announce the replacement to the full-frame D810, which has been on sale since July 2014. We’d love to see Nikon regain a footing in the megapixel stakes, and we’re expecting at least a 42MP Sony sensor with an Expeed 5 processor and better native ISO of 12,500. We’ve heard rumblings that the next version will also feature 4K video, and possibly even 6K, though realistically this is probably unlikely. nikon.co.uk
