1 Buy a circular polariser
Small, light and cheap, every photographer should have a circular polarising filter in their kit bag. These help to increase the saturation of colours and remove reflections from shiny surfaces such as leaves. In short, they can help give your macro images a little more punch. For wider-angle shots, such as the image on page 46, they also cut down on glare and give deeper blue skies. Be sure to check your lens’ filter thread size so you buy one that fits.
