Take an artistic selfie

When inspiration strikes it’s important to sit up and take notice, no matter where you are. Taya Iv (500px.com/ tayaiv) was in her car when she saw the opportunity for a beautiful photo.

“I wanted to tell a story using the raindrops and the calming orange tones of the street lights. My intention was to reflect the evening’s mood with the help of a self-portrait that showcased the breathtaking golden bokeh provided by the rain. During the editing process I realised I wanted to create a diptych, as when these two images were combined they looked like they were meant for each other.

“Actually taking the images was challenging, due to the bumpy road and inconsistent lighting. As the street lights were far apart I had to wait for the perfect moment to capture sharp and well-lit shots.”
